In modern times, even though modern armies have guns martial arts are still a vital part in combat. If you screw up in CQC (close quarter combat) then you are done. When the enemy is too close you use a gun you have to rely on martial arts. These styles revolve around quick strikes, use of close quarter weapons, and take down to quickly neutralize targets.
Hi Wes. This is a cool topic. I always thought that military cqc fighting was just an adapted version of judo. It is interesting to discover that not only judo is used (which is evident because judo does not involve strikes).
